Buses around Brighton
You can buy a weekly student ticket that covers the main buses to the university only (23, 25 N25), or you can buy a weekly student saver ticket for £11.50 at the campus shops.

You can get a 3 month or 1 year pass at:
- 1 Stop Travel shops at either North Street, Brighton or Brighton Station
- The Post Office at the University of Sussex campus
You will need to have your NUS card and two passport-size photos.
A free shuttle bus service operates between Watts and Falmer from 0700 to 1900 during term time. This is a white minibus with the University of Brighton logo on it.
There are two further free services available from the Big Lemon Bus Company: UoB A, or B:
- UoB Route A (pdf format) is a 28 seater coach. (A valid Unicard is required to board).
- UoB Route B (pdf format) is a 46 seater coach and is a morning service only. (A valid Unicard is required to board).
These buses are yellow and are signed 'University of Brighton free bus'
If you want to travel beyond Brighton to explore the area by bus and train, a good deal is the Downlander ticket.
Buses around Eastbourne and Hastings
Eastbourne and Hastings are served by the Stagecoach bus company, who have regular services around both towns and the local areas.

If you want to travel beyond Brighton to explore the area, a good deal is the Downlander ticket.
Trains
Student railcard
Full-time students and anyone aged 16-25 can save up to one third on train travel across Britain with the 16–25 Railcard.
You will need to pay £28 for the card (valid for a year) and apply at a rail station with your student ID.
Unizone
The Unizone ticket is a Southern Rail season ticket for students travelling in the Brighton or Worthing areas. Present your valid NUS identity card with a rail photo identity card at one of the staffed stations within the Unizone area - you cannot buy the Unizone ticket at Ticket Vending Machines or on the train.

Downlander tickets
If you want to explore the area by bus and train, a good deal is the Downlander ticket.
Coaches
Full-time students and anyone aged 16-25 can save up to one third on coach fares across Britain with the National Express Young Persons Coachcard.
