Local business people were given a first-hand opportunity to find out more about Eastbourne's newest enterprise for entrepreneurs.
Eastbourne Enterprise Hub Director Ray Wynne invited guests
from the town's business and professional sectors to the briefing. They were
shown around the hub's South Street headquarters and took part in a question
and answer session.
Mr Wynne said:
"The hub was officially launched last month and the object of the briefing, which was the first of its kind, was to show the facilities to some of the town's leading business people and tell them about the project. It was a very successful meeting and we will be organising similar briefings in the coming months."
Topics discussed during the question and answer session included
the ideal client for the hub, how to spot an entrepreneur and how to offer
them the best possible support.
The Eastbourne Enterprise Hub is one of 20 region-wide centres devoted to helping
business start-ups. Based at the former Llewellyn offices, the hub offers new
businesses an attractive, accessible and affordable town centre location to
work from and includes eight workstations, broadband access and fully equipped
meeting rooms.
The Eastbourne Enterprise Hub was established by SEEDA (www.seeda.co.uk)
and developed in partnership with Eastbourne Borough Council, Eastbourne Reborn,
East Sussex County Council, Sussex Enterprise, the University of Brighton and
the town's business and professional community. It is aimed at high-growth
start-ups and focused on sectors that already have a strong footing in the
local community, such as sports science, healthcare, tourism and leisure, IT,
new media and advanced engineering.
