Cutting edge work from all areas of art and design activity will be on display at the University of Brighton’s degree shows, to be held from Saturday 4 – Thursday 9 June at Grand Parade, Brighton.
Sponsored by Burt, Brill & Cardens solicitors for the tenth year running – the graduate shows reveal the emerging talent from the university. Illustration, fashion, photography, and three-dimensional crafts are just some of the areas on display and open to the public.
Each year the university challenges its students to produce the official campaign image. This year the winning concept comprises of 4 striking "bird’s eye" images of shock-haired students. It has been produced by three talented graduates – Rebecca Callinan (Concept); Will Perrens (Typography) and Liz Hingley (Photography).
The degree shows, provide an excellent opportunity for students who are about to graduate, to exhibit their work for prospective employers, commissioners and enthusiasts and entry is free.
Attracting fifteen thousand visitors a year, a staggering one thousand new and exciting artworks will be displayed by up to five hundred graduating students from the Faculty of Arts and Architecture.
The highlight of the cultural extravaganza is the graduate fashion show on Saturday 4 June at 9pm in the Quadrangle, Grand Parade, where fashion and textile students get to show off their design talent on the catwalk.
Tickets are required for the fashion show and can be obtained from the graduate shows hotline on 01273 644099 and cost £7 per person. The fashion show is likely to sell out so advance booking is advised.
