Deputy Vice Chancellor, David House and BBC South-East Weather presenter Kaddy Lee-Preston (pictured below), have officially launched a solar energy project to heat the swimming pool at the university's Eastbourne campus.
The pair formally unveiled a display unit which shows the amount of energy saved by the panels in kilowatt hours.

The 60 solar panels will create enough energy to heat the campus's swimming pool and forms one of the largest installations at a higher education establishment in Europe.
The panels supplied by Riomay and installed by Cel-f Solar Systems Ltd take up an area of more than 180sqm and will produce more energy per square metre than any other commercially available panel in the world.
The project will help the university meet targets set by the eco-friendly University Carbon Club, of which Brighton is a member.
