Product design graduate from the University of Brighton, Imogen Lawson, is a finalist in the prestigious Concept Products Award at this year's Daily Mail Ideal Home Show 9 March - 2 April.
Imogen designed a new concept in dining which will fit into any home - the Socially Interactive Dining Centre. It incorporates a cooking griddle, a hot plate and chopping-board and makes cooking and eating a truly sociable experience.
Respected interior designer, author and presenter of 'Other People's Houses', Naomi Cleaver is on the Concept Products Award panel to help judge, review and select the most forward thinking and beneficial designs. The winner of the award will receive tuition at JJA Academy worth £5,500.
Imogen's course tutor at the university, Richard Morris said: "Imogen is a talented designer who thrived at the university, enjoying an exchange program we have with the University of Lund. She proved herself capable in tackling all of the disciplines that the broad subject of Product Design encompasses. The Socially Interactive Dining Centre (pictured below) for example, is not only conceptually interesting but is a fully engineered and commercially viable product. This was Imogen's second final year project, and her first, a sustainable herb garden, was equally proficient."
