Graduates with designs on top fashion jobs

21.06.2006

The splendour of the Park Lane Hotel's art deco ballroom provided a spectacular venue for the university's London Fashion Show on 9 June 2006. The event showcased the designs of its most talented final year fashion and textile design students to the fashion industry.

For the second year running the university organised an exclusive London show thanks to generous sponsorship from Fox Williams, UK lawyers specialising in fashion law.

Top London models breezed down the catwalk in show stopping outfits designed by the university's top fashion and textiles design students.

The pick of this year's new crop of talent included James McAra who will be taking up a post at Burberry Prorsum and Emma Noble who has accepted a job with DKNY. But the star of the show was undoubtedly Rebecca Hulbert, who was awarded the Fox Williams Business Plan prize - presented by Karen Millen.

"This Brighton show provided the audience of fashion designers and clothing company representatives with strong designers. The students are grounded through work experience in the subject discipline, have business acumen and demonstrate employability and fresh design talent " said course leader Malcolm McInnes.
