Local companies have the chance to find out how to improve their business through innovative new ideas, at the 2006 Business Innovation for Small-Medium Sized Enterprises (BISME) conference. This takes place on 14-15 September at Chichester Park Hotel, Westhampnett, Chichester.

For example, our highly successful Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) and Brian Cannan, a KTP Consultant will introduce the concept and show how it can bring competitive advantage to business.

Structured into keynote sessions, live university/business case studies and practical workshops, BISME 2006 will provide opportunities for discussion, debate and networking.

Keynote speeches will be delivered by Paul Evans, Chairman of Marshall Tufflex and Professor Andrew Miller, from the School of the Environment who will be speaking about sustainability in the built environment. Pete McCullen and Claire Millington from the university's Business School will present an interactive workshop on excellent customer relationship management, and Jane Priddis will present a workshop on strategic marketing.

Kate Pentol from the CTC said: "The Business Innovation for SMEs conference will provide an excellent opportunity for companies, particularly small companies, to find out how they can make strategic improvements to their businesses through working in partnership with the University of Brighton."

BISME 2006 is expected to attract a wide spectrum of companies to hear how KTP can fund improvements in their business by accessing the wealth of specialist knowledge and expertise available at the university.
