An evening course in Arabic Language and Culture is just one of the new courses to be launched at the university's School of Languages for people wanting to broaden their business, study or leisure horizons.
The first of its kind at the university, the 10-week Arabic language and culture course starts in February and teaches spoken and written modern standard Arabic. In association with the Saudi Cultural Bureau, qualified and experienced Arabic teachers will give an introduction to the Arabic language and culture, along with the opportunity to write Arabic script.
Spoken Mandarin and Chinese culture for beginners and intermediate learners is another new course recently introduced by the Language School.
In partnership with the Chinese Educational Development Project, the 10-week course that started in January gives participants opportunities for preparation and involvement in local Chinese New Year celebrations, along with learning spoken Mandarin. Further start dates for this course will be available during 2007.
More information about these courses and others offered can now be found on the Faculty of Arts website www.brighton.ac.uk/arts.
