The University of Brighton is currently on the lookout for current home owners to join its thriving managed housing scheme and will be hosting an event on 31 January to help landlords find out more.
Under this successful scheme the university rents property direct from landlords and then sublets it to its students. Standards in these properties are high and students have more protection as they rent direct from the university.
In return, home owners are guaranteed competitive rental income, deposit administration, reference checked tenants and a free management service and payment which is guaranteed to the owner by the university.
With a strong emphasis on offering safe and secure accommodation, before being accepted on to the scheme, accommodation must meet strict criteria on health and safety to ensure students' homes are free from damp and the other pitfalls often associated with student housing.
Along with being well maintained, all properties must have up to four bedrooms and be located close to university campus sites at Falmer, Moulsecoomb and Grand Parade or on the number 25 bus route.
To help potential newcomers to the scheme find out more about the university's managed housing scheme and to give advice to existing owners, the university is holding an event on 31 January 2007 from 6-8pm at Mithras House.
Sabina Wagner, Residences Services Manager at the university, said: "The successful scheme was set up over 15 years ago and offers our students high quality and affordable accommodation within the city of Brighton and Hove, without the stress and fees associated with the private sector."
To help potential newcomers to the scheme find out more about the university's managed housing scheme and to give advice to existing owners, the university is holding an event on 31 January 2007 from 6.30-8.30pm at Mithras House.
