The university's new Trevin Towers Student Centre (pictured below), officially opened its doors to Eastbourne's student community on Monday 16 April.
After
extensive planning, the listed building now stands proudly on the Eastbourne
campus offering support and guidance to students on everything from accommodation
and council tax to counselling and careers all in one place.
Bringing many existing student support departments together in one place to allow students to access different services much more easily, the centre has been met with high acclaim from the university and the local community.
The Worshipful the Mayor of Eastbourne, Councillor Colin Belsey, who officially opened the centre on the day, said: “I have had an extremely interesting and informative visit to the student centre today and have seen the commitment from the university and its staff to provide students with high quality services.
"I am also pleased to see examples of productive partnerships with the Eastbourne community. The work that goes on here in the student centre as part of the students learning experience is to be commended."

The Worshipful the Mayor of Eastbourne, Councillor Colin Belsey, and the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Julian Crampton, open the new Student Centre in Trevin Towers.
As well as providing a network of support, there are several open access PCs for student use and a quiet area for researching information or talking through issues with a member of staff.
The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Julian Crampton, took the opportunity to commend the hard work of staff at the launch event and said: "Having a student centre underlines our commitment as a university to providing an experience of higher education which recognises that quality services, such as you have seen today, go hand in hand with ensuring that students get the most out of their experience."
Funded by the successful bid to HEFCE for Project Capital Round 3 funding in 2004, Trevin Towers is a grade II listed property dating back to 1894. Sympathetically restored to create a welcoming student environment for Eastbourne students, the buildings still retains many of its original Victorian features.
The centre is open weekdays from 9.00am-4.30pm Monday to Friday (individual service times may vary). You can contact the team on 01273 643845 or 01273 643848 or email studentservices@brighton.ac.uk. More information about individual services is also available on studentcentral.
