The Who front man to unveil the Music Tunnel

University of Brighton Illustration and Graphic Design students have created a mural based on Brighton's musical history in the historic Sea Life Centre in Brighton.
The Music Tunnel will be unveiled by Roger Daltrey, front man to The Who, just one of numerous legendary bands who took the stage at The Florida Rooms, one of Brighton's hottest music venues back in the 60s once located in the building that is now the Sea Life Centre.
The 80-foot-pedestrian tunnel linking the centre to the beach-side of Marine Parade is being given a unique artistic makeover in the form of a mural featuring music artists past and present closely associated with the city.

Second year Graphic Design and Illustration students
Roger Daltrey has fond memories of regular Wednesday night sessions at The Florida Rooms when admission was 1s 6d and was delighted to be asked to open what will become known as the Brighton Music Tunnel.
"This is a follow-up to the successful Walk of Fame and perhaps a long overdue acknowledgement of the impact Brighton has had on popular music," said Walk of Fame founder David Courtney.
The university students have been hard at work for the last two weeks painting their tribute to the stars of the Brighton music scene, and their finished work will be officially unveiled by Roger Daltrey at 12 noon on Tuesday 25 May.

Others depicted include Norman Cook (Fat Boy Slim), and his wife Zoe Ball; Adam Faith, Leo Sayer, Sir Paul McCartney, Gary Moore, Abba, Dusty Springfield, James Morrison, The Levellers and Nick Cave.
"A previously dull and featureless subway tunnel has effectively been transformed into a spectacle that every Brighton visitor will want to see," said Sea Life boss Max Leviston.
The project is a live brief for our second year Graphic Design and Illustration students from David Courtney.
The students have created a blog following the project: http://tunnelvisionbrighton.blogspot.com/.
David Courtney has also pledged to give 25 per cent of profits from a new annual venture, Brighton Music Awards, to the university course to help fund their degree show every year.
The project has been filmed by students from University Centre Hastings.
