The new science of ageing
Published 10 June 2010
Richard Faragher, Professor of Biological Gerontology at the University of Brighton and Chair of the British Society for Research on Ageing, has criticised the "pityfully" small amount of money spent on researching ageing but he said he remains optimistic about the future.
In a video interview at the Royal Society, he said he was excited by developments that might ease the debilitating aspects of ageing.
He said: "I am optimistic the field will realise its potential for the people of the world – eventually."
