Big Bang!

Published 14 March 2011
Event 16 March 2011

Adults and children are being invited to an explosive science show.

Professor Hal Sosabowski, the University of Brighton's professor of public understanding of science, is putting on a free 'Bigger Bang!' demonstration to mark National Science and Engineering Week.

Professor Sosabowski, who hosts a similar show every Christmas at the Brighton Dome, will be enlisting the help of students from the Faculty of Science and Engineering for his experiments, many of which end with mini explosions.

Other members of staff and students within the faculty will be giving demonstrations before the chemistry show, including Dr Ian Watts who will be directing robots to greet guests.

Billed as an evening of chemistry fun, the show will be at the university's Cockcroft Hall in Lewes Road, Moulsecoomb, Brighton, at 6.30pm on Wednesday 16 March. Registration is not required.
