The University of Brighton is hosting the University Safety & Health Association's (USHA) autumn conference being held at the Royal Geographical Society in London this month.
The work of a project group, chaired by Andrew Knight, assistant head of health and safety at the university, to produce new guidance on best practice in safety fieldwork has been shortlisted for the health and safety profession's prestigious Safety and Health Practitioner and Institute of Occupational Safety in Health award, being presented in October.
This year's conference on 13 September marks the 40th anniversary of USHA and aims to engage with students undertaking fieldwork during their course of study or research by sponsoring 200 complimentary places at the event.
