Former land speed record holder Richard Noble OBE is to speak in Brighton about the latest attempt to break the world record.
Mr Noble, who held the record from 1983 to 1997, was project director of the Thrust programme which achieved the first-ever supersonic land speed record. He is now director of the Bloodhound project, sponsored by the institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), which aims to achieve a new record of 1,000 mph in 2013.
The lecture, The World Land Speed Record with Bloodhound supersonic car, organised by IMechE, will be in the University of Brighton's Cockcroft Building in Lewes Road, Brighton, on 17 November, at 6.30pm.
