On the trail of foxes

Published 25 April 2012

A University of Brighton principal lecturer is taking part in nationwide TV research into the life of foxes.

Dr Dawn Scott, head of the university's Biology and Biomedical Sciences Division, is scheduled to appear on Monday, 30 April, on Channel Four's "Foxes Lives: Wild in the City". Her role will involve tracking and following urban foxes in Brighton.

The programme is a new interactive natural history event carrying out what has been described as the biggest-ever nationwide study into urban foxes in the UK.

Dr Scott said: "The research will increase our knowledge of urban foxes and will provide us with a better understanding of their ecology."

The programme, scheduled for broadcast at 8pm will be presented by Mark Evans who will draw on Dr Scott's 17 years experience of ecological mammal research. She will be working in collaboration with Windfall Films and Brighton and Hove Council and Sussex Wildlife Trust.
