The University of Brighton has risen nine places in the Guardian University Guide league table, published today.
The university came 64th compared to 73rd last year and 78th the previous year in the table which comprises 120 higher education institutions. In one subject, Art & Design, the university was ranked in the top ten.
Professor Stuart Laing, the University of Brighton's Deputy Vice-Chancellor, said: "We are pleased that the developing success of the university is recognised by the Guardian University Guide.
"As one of the most popular universities in the south-east, Brighton offers an extensive range of academic and professional degrees underpinned by experienced and innovative teaching and world class research. Our graduate employment record and National Student Survey results show our courses are delivering what our students require."
The Guardian table was compiled by an independent consultancy. It ranks universities according to student satisfaction with their course, teaching and assessment and feedback based on the National Student Survey, spending per student, student/staff ratios, graduate career prospects, entry tariff, a value-added score that compares students’ entry qualifications with their final degree results.
The Guardian subject table data identified particular strengths of the University of Brighton, in Art & Design, Engineering, Sport Science and Education.
