Bridging the Gaps: Get academic-ready for uni

The Brighton Skills Hub offers a week of pre-arrival live online workshops and Q+A events in September, along with a set of resources, to make the move to university-level study easier.

We asked our students: which five academic skills would have helped you feel more prepared and confident in your first semester and year?

Across live and interactive sessions, we'll cover essential skills to give you a head start:

  • Navigating My Brighton and My Studies
  • Researching and referencing like a pro
  • Reading effectively and critically
  • Writing with confidence and clarity
  • Thriving at uni: self-advocacy, time management, and wellbeing support.

Join us to build your academic skills, get answers to your questions, and start your uni journey with confidence.

You can sign up for the course, and also access some helpful resources, on the Bridging the Gaps page.
