Alternative Options
Sometimes withdrawing/leaving may feel like the only option, but there are alternatives to dropping out of university.
Whatever your reasons, it is a good idea to think about what you might want to do, consider your options, and seek advice.
If you stay at university having considered the alternatives, you may progress more positively than you would otherwise have done.
If you decide to change or leave your present course, you can be confident that you have made the right decision.
Consider the following alternatives:
- Staying on your course - and making it work for you
- Internal course change - Changing to another course within the university
- External course change - Changing to a course at another university
- Taking a break - Taking a break from your studies - intercalation
- Repeat study - Retaking an assessment task, module or year
- Change of mode - For example, a change to part-time study
