Things not as expected?

It is not unusual or strange to think about leaving your course. Whatever your reason might be, leaving the university is not a decision you should make without first seeking further advice.

Some students, for many different reasons, feel that leaving their course is the best move for them at that time.

A survey of students who have considered withdrawing, has identified a variety of problems experienced by students, some of the most comment include:

  • I chose the wrong subject to study
  • The course content was not what I expected
  • I found it hard to balance paid work commitments with my studies
  • I was experiencing increased pressures at home
  • I was experiencing financial difficulties as a result of my studies
  • I found it hard to make friends and felt lonely
