The active collaboration between researchers with different specialist skills is recognised as a major strength, providing a ready background for the establishment of multidisciplinary research programmes across a spectrum of pharmaceutical and biological sciences. These research programmes have led to both high quality research output and an enhanced research training environment; undergraduate and postgraduate courses are also beneficiaries through the research elements of these courses.
The technical team of 22, support teaching, research and consultancy activities within the school. The technical team has responsibility for the maintenance and support of all equipment for the provision of services for teaching and research laboratories within the school. The school has central facilities for cell culture, image analysis, electron microscopy, spectroscopy and radiochemistry, dedicated glass-blowing, electronics and mechanical workshops and an information technology support officer providing computing support for staff and students.
