The Image and Analysis Unit [IAU] provides specialist expertise, support, and instrumentation for the teaching, and research activities of the Faculty of Science and Engineering within the University of Brighton, and also offers these services on a consultancy basis to commercial and industrial clients.
The IAU offers:
- Imaging – Electron microscopy, Atomic force microscopy, Confocal microscopy, Light microscopy.
- Analysis – EDS, HPLC, GC, AAS, FT-IR, NMR, Raman, UV-Vis, LC-MS, DSC, PCS, Contact angle.
- A comprehensive research and development service for novel products and materials from a physicochemical, cellular biological and microbiological perspective.
The consultancy service offered by the IAU also provides clients with a route to access the collective knowledge and experience held by a wide spectrum of internationally recognised Scientists, Researchers, and Academics within the University network, covering a full range of pharmaceutical, chemical, biological, biomedical, geological, environmental, and engineering disciplines.
The IAU is very grateful for the ongoing support of a Quorum Technologies Ltd, a local company at the forefront of electron microscopy sample preparation. Each year Quorum Technologies Ltd donates a number of prizes that are awarded to students for the promotion of excellence in electron microscopy.
