The Quorum prizes and scheme are generously supported by Quorum Technologies Ltd.

The fund was established between the University of Brighton and Quorum Technologies, a local electron microscopy technology company, in 2006 to foster the support and promotion of electron microscopy. Initially founded as a philanthropic donation by the now retired Managing Director, Bob Kenhard, a Brighton University alumni, the scheme has subsequently continued to attract the financial support of Quorum Technologies, now part of Judges Scientific plc. The Quorum Technologies prize scheme fund is coordinated at the University of Brighton by Dr Jonathan Salvage (IAU) and Mr Andrew Scanlan (Development and Alumni), with Mr Mike Wombwell, Sales & Marketing director of Quorum Technologies.
