Research Interests

  • Looking at the genetics of populations to study the fitness consequences of inbreeding and population subdivision
  • Using microsatellites to infer population dynamics and as phenotypic markers. Current studies include:
    • The consequences of consanguinity and population substructure to the genetic health of British Asian communities.
    • The molecular ecology of water vole populations of the South East of England/Browm hyena & jackel populations of South Africa.
    • The genetic basis of age-related phenotypic decline in a model organism Lymnaea stagnalis.
