Research Interests
- tri-trophic interactions (interactions between plants & insects)
- pollination ecology
- evolution of multitrophic interactions
- food web ecology
- elucidating the role insects in alien weed management and conservation
- ecological aspects of biological control
- effects of land use (especially agriculture) and global change phenomena on biodiversity and ecosystem functioning
My principle research areas centres on questions in the field of ecological entomology, especially population dynamics of herbivorous insects; pollination ecology (specifically conservation of bumblebees and orchid pollination) as well as the use of info-chemical by natural enemies and whether these chemicals might influence the life history and reproductive strategies of predators/parasitoids and herbivorous insects (chemical ecology).

2007 – ongoing: Orchid Conservation: Burnt Orchids & Pollination (partly funded by research grant from South Downs Society)
2009 – ongoing: Oak Herbivory: BSO Trials in Kent
