This year the Pharmacy Ball was held at the Hilton Metropole, Brighton, on Saturday 19 February 2011. The ball is organised almost entirely by students of the Pharmacy Society ‘PharmSoc’. We were particularly lucky this year, having the highly organised Monika Trebski step forward as the Ball Convenor, and all her hard work and effort certainly paid off. The Regency Suite was looking great on the night, second only to the guests; as lecturers and students donned their best formal attire. There was a great atmosphere from start to finish, and the entertainment provided by the band and DJ had staff and students alike strutting their stuff on the dance floor until the early hours.
Maria Kennedy, Pharmacy Society President, said:
"All the hard work that goes into organising the Pharmacy Ball is definitely worth it. It's a great opportunity to socialise with your course mates and lecturers, and a very welcome break from the books for a night. It's generally the social highlight of the year for MPharm students at the university, and if this year's was anything to go by - no wonder! On behalf of the PharmSoc I would like to thank everyone who made the night such a huge success, and to the lecturers who came along to celebrate the night with us."
