Taught postgraduate courses
Many masters degree courses require a first degree. Applicants without initial, formal qualifications but with an appropriate level of experience are considered on the basis of their potential to benefit from, and contribute to, a course.

Credit accumulation and transfer scheme (CATS)
We operate a credit accumulation and transfer scheme whereby individual modules passed at the University of Brighton are allocated points which can be transferred to other institutions of higher education, nationally and internationally, and counted towards your qualifications there.
Credits earned from study in other institutions (whether CATS-rated or not) may give you exemption from part of University of Brighton courses. Most standard postgraduate modules have a value of 10 points.
Other kinds of learning or work experience may also be acknowledged in lieu of some course components. If you think that you may be eligible please contact the admissions team identified in individual course descriptions for advice before you apply.
