Prospective students at the University of Brighton

Part-time or full-time?

Flexible study options

The majority of our postgraduate courses offer you a choice of completing them full-time or part-time. Typically, studying a full-time course will take 12 months. Most courses offer the choice of part-time study too, with some courses available on a distance learning basis.

Take breaks from study

We realise that students who want to study for postgraduate qualifications often want to do this while they work, or need to accommodate other commitments. To make it easier to accommodate this, and to allow students to take breaks from study we offer intermediate awards, like the postgraduate certificate (PGCert) and postgraduate diploma (PGDip). This enables students to gain a postgraduate-level education without the time commitment required for a full-time masters degree. Students can complete a PGCert or PGDip and then return at a later date to continue studying and gain a masters.

Work placement opportunities

To make the most of your university experience you may choose to spend time on a paid work placement or studying abroad.
