Undergraduate study

Attendance options

Most of our undergraduate courses offer flexible attendance options. This can work in a number of ways.

Part-time study

Many of our students have to combine work, study and other life commitments and we are continually working to improve access to our courses. Part-time options exist for many, with some also available on a distance learning basis.

Take breaks from study

Foundation degrees, HNDs, DipHE and CertHE awards provide access to Higher Education without the three or four year full-time commitment required for an honours degree. Many students take option of returning to study at a later date and 'topping up' these awards to an hounours degree with a further one or two years of study.

Sandwich year and work placement opportunities

To make the most of your university experience you may choose to spend a year on paid work placement or studying abroad.

Brighton's professional focus means that many of our courses offer a 'sandwich option' - the opportunity to spend a year on placement gaining valuable work-based experience and making contact with potential employers.
