Applying for full-time undergraduate courses starting in 2013
This timeline provides you with general advice about what you need to do and by when as you go through the process of becoming a full-time undergraduate student. Make sure you confirm the full details of the deadlines and processes that relate to your application by checking our website and those of UCAS and the relevant student funding body, eg Student Finance England.

| 15 January: UCAS deadline for applications for courses starting in 2013 for UK and EU students. Applications are accepted after this deadline whilst there are still places left on the course. |

| Apply for student funding. Make sure that you apply early to the relevant student funding body. You do not need to wait until you have been offered a place on a course to apply for funding. | ||
| Find out more about student life at Brighton. Between January and May many courses at Brighton hold post-application open days. These events are smaller than our autumn events and give you an opportunity to see the facilities you will use on your course, talk to tutors, and meet students and other people who have applied for the same course. | ||
| We make offers to students from September onward. However, most offers of places are made in the spring term. If you haven't heard from us and you have concerns, please contact the admissions team. | ||
| Once we have made you an offer we will send you our Finding a home guide with advice on your accommodation options and the criteria and deadlines to apply for halls. | ||
| February | ||
| You can start our nursing courses in February and September each year. | ||
UCAS Extra runs between February and June and provides applicants who are not holding any offers with a further chance to apply for courses which still have vacancies. |

| April | ||
In April and May you will have to make your first (firm) and second (insurance) choice of course and university and confirm it with UCAS. |

| May | ||
We send out invitations by email to apply for a university residence places from mid-April. If you have not heard from us by May, please contact us while there is still time for you to apply. |

| Log on to studentcentral. Once you have accepted an offer of a place here you'll get access to our online learning environment. Before you arrive you have access to a special area on studentcentral with personalised new student information including important dates, checklists and FAQs. You can also use the new student discussion board and meet other new students online before you arrive. | ||
| 30 June: Final deadline for international student applications via UCAS | ||
The UK and EU application deadline for our halls of residence is also in June. |

| August | ||
The application deadline for our halls of residence for international and BSMS undergraduate students in August. Once you have all your results we will confirm your place on a course here. |

If you haven't done quite as well as you needed to you may still be able to secure a place at Brighton through UCAS Clearing, which takes place in mid-August. |

| Our house-hunting service runs in August and September for students looking for private rented accommodation. | ||
Once you have confirmed your place, you can use studentcentral to confirm when and where you will need to be during the first week of your course. |

Some courses start before the official beginning of the university's autumn term. You can check the start date of your course on studentcentral. |

As the first day of autumn term approaches, we'll post more information on studentcentral about what's going to be happening during your first week, including enrolment processes. |

| Make sure you attend welcome week, held in late September, to enrol for your course, attend induction activities and enjoy the events the Students' Union puts on for new students. | ||
