Steven Flowers

SF20Photo_large.jpegSteven Flowers works in the Centre for Research in Innovation Management (CENTRIM) at the University of Brighton.

Stephen's current research focuses on the role of users in innovation. Recent work has focused on the measurement of user innovation amongst both firms and individual consumers. Other recent research in this area includes:

  • The work on the policy implications of users innovation
  • Mapping user innovation within a high-technology value system
  • The emergence of the phenomenon of outlaw Innovation.

He is experienced in researching the development and delivery of software systems, including buyer-supplier interactions in the delivery of large software projects. He also works and researches in the area of management development. He has published widely on ICT-enabled innovation.

Stephen's past areas of research include:

  • The ways in which ICT is used in a variety of organisational contexts, including -healthcare, and the way in which users may be actively engaged in innovation processes.
  • The effectiveness of IT-enabled innovation, technology-driven organisational change and intranet technologies.
