New Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with St Wilfrid’s Hospice

Published 12 November 2012

The School of Sport and Service Management has recently been awarded a two-year Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with St Wilfrid’s Hospice, an Eastbourne based charity that provides care for adults with advanced, progressive, life-limiting diseases.

A KTP is a partnership between a company, university and a recent graduate who work together to deliver a strategic project for the business. Find out more about KTPs

The aim of this KTP is to develop and implement a revised retail strategy, enabling the charity to expand their existing chain of retail stores and to launch a range of innovative e-commerce offers.

Principal lecturer, Harvey Ells is the academic lead for the project with Assistant Head of School, Chris Dutton acting as the knowledge base supervisor.

Both Harvey and Chris have worked together in supporting a number of retail KTPs in the past, including work with Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, Spring Barn Farm near Lewes and Bon Appetit at Crawley.

All have been awarded ‘Grade A’ upon their successful completion in recognition for their outstanding contributions to the business partners' work.
