Students consult for retail brands

A group of third year undergraduate students have had their first experience of working with live clients.
The students who are all taking the Retail Consultancy module, worked with small and medium enterprise (SME) companies.
They undertook a company health check and proposed a research project in line with company objectives for business growth.
Student Chloe Wilson consulted with VELECO, the world’s first Fair Trade and eco-friendly cyclewear fashion brand. The company invited Chloe to gather feedback by conducting a focus group and facebook questionnaire with younger urban cyclists.
She also carried out competitor analysis by exploring the marketing mixes used by similar fashion brands.
Jonathan Lewis, co-founder of VELECO, praised Chloe’s consultancy: He said: “It was very detailed and her qualitative research has already influenced some of our thinking on future ranges and styles.”
Students carried out projects with companies including Brighton Fashion Week, Butterfly Portraits, Hope and Harlequin, The Very Vintage Fair and Darcy fashion boutique.
