Published 27 March 2012

Ms Ufi Ibrahim, Chief Executive of the British Hospitality Association (BHA) has been confirmed as keynote speaker at the Brighton Hospitality Research summer forum taking place on Thursday 12 July 2012.

The Brighton Hospitality Research group was founded in 2011, and its vision is to be an inclusive group of hospitality researchers and teachers that wish to promote and progress hospitality research within the themes of culture, people and performance, food, management and wellbeing, consumer behaviour and pedagogy. The group are delighted to have Ufi speaking at the summer forum.

Ufi joined the British Hospitality Association in July 2010. Previously, she was chief operations officer of the London–based World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), where she worked with governments and industry across the world advising on policymaking and the development of planning frameworks for the long-term success of travel and tourism.

Ufi was instrumental in the establishment of the Global Travel & Tourism Summit – the annual meeting of world leaders to discuss and agree key priorities for the industry.

Dr Ioannis Pantelidis, senior lecturer in hospitality and culinary arts, and forum convener feels Ufi’s attendance will benefit all participants. He said: “Our research is often influenced by industry trends and issues, and colleagues within the Brighton Hospitality Research Group as well as partner institutions proactively engage in applied research and ensure our project findings inform industry.

“We are therefore thrilled to have Ms Ufi Ibrahim accept our invitation to be keynote speaker at our summer hospitality research forum.  Her insights of the British Hospitality Industry and the activities of the British Hosptiality Association will be of immense benefit to all of our participants.”

Abstracts are now welcome for the forum that capture the essence of hospitality research.
