Working with the English Institute of Sport (EIS) and the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS)

The School of Sport and Service Management works closely with two key organisations. The English Institute of Sport (EIS) and the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS). The School of Sport and Service Management consultancy department are contracted out to work with both these key organisations and the athletes within them. These organizations work in partnership with sport to improve performances through the delivery of high quality sport science and medical support to elite athletes, through its nationwide network of expertise and facilities. The School of Sport and Service Management is a satellite centre for both these organizations and delivers elite level Sports Science support and Strength & Conditioning.

The EIS works in partnership with sport to improve performances through the delivery of high quality sport science and medical support to elite athletes, through its nationwide network of expertise and facilities. The School of Sport and Service Management being one of these centres of excellence. We provide support in the form of elite strength & conditioning, medical and physiotherapy to a number of Olympic and Paralympic athletes

The EIS works across Olympic and Paralympic summer and winter sports, as well as English and a limited number of professional sports. As a grant funded organisation through UK Sport, Olympic and Paralympic sports are able to engage with the EIS through their World Class Programme funding from UK Sport, English sports through their Sport England funding and professional sports through their respective funding bodies.

TASS is a Government funded programme that represents a unique partnership between talented young athletes, National Governing Bodies of Sport (NGB’s) and the Higher (University) and Further (college/school) Education sector.TASS aims to help its athletes to balance academic life with training and competition as a performance athlete.

TASS subcontracts centres of excellence such as the School of Sport and Service Management to work with their selected athletes and ensure that their continuing education is combined with supporting their sporting development. Strength & Conditioning and Lifestyle management are key areas that we provide to enhance the quality
of athlete improvement.

The School of Sport and Service Management Consultancy Department has worked with EIS and TASS for about 6 years, and continues to develop an ongoing relationship with these government funded partnerships. The elite level facilities and staff form a strong support network and continue to work with and develop future champions
