Healthy Lifestyle programme

Want to improve your fitness?

Perhaps you want to lose weight, exercise more, or learn to use a gym

To help you achieve your ideal body shape and improve your confidence, Chelsea School will be running its successful 12 week Healthy Lifestyle Programme at the Eastbourne campus in 2012.

In a small group each week you will learn about different aspects of exercise and weight management including how to use the equipment in the gym, maintaining your motivation and nutritional advice.

The programme is tailored to your specific needs as an individual. You will get a full health and fitness assessment at the beginning and end of the programme, which allows us to develop an exercise programme just for you.

Sessions will run every Wednesday at 6.00pm at the Eastbourne campus from 1st February 2012. The full programme is as follows:

DateSession
1st February Introduction and Assessment
8th February Aerobic Activity
15th February Strength and Toning (Lower Body)
22nd February Strength and Toning (Upper Body)
1st March Nutrition
8th March Core Exercises
15th March Swiss Ball and Pilates
22nd March Aerobics with Stretch and Tone
29th March Alternative Activities

On the programme you will get to use the university’s new state-of-the-art gyms, however, to support you while you gain confidence using the equipment some sessions will be run in the studios or separate parts of the gyms.

The programme will be run by students from the university’s Sports Science degree course, supervised by Dr Alan Richardson. These students have been through a rigorous selection process and have all received additional training to enable them to undertake this role.

The cost of the programme is:
£60 for Sport Brighton members
£116 for non-members  - this will include full membership to Sport Brighton for 4 months from the first day of the course but there will be no obligation to sign up afterwards, and it includes unlimited use of the gym and pool.

Everyone is welcome, whatever your body shape, goals or fitness level. This opportunity is open to everybody over the age of 16, from within or outside the university.
