Our courses are closely linked to industry with members of academic staff having gained industrial experience in their fields before moving in to education, and there is emphasis on you being able to apply academic theory in practical situations.
On the undergraduate degree you will have the opportunity to get hands-on experience by taking a 48-week work placement between years two and three.
The completion of a placement-based final year project replaces the dissertation.
The placement will give you the opportunity to apply practical skills, gain hands-on experience and make industry contacts.
