Gymnastics
There are several opportunities to become involved in gymnastics at the University of Brighton. Students at Chelsea are required to take modules in gymnastics at levels 1 and 2, and have the option to continue studying gymnastics at level 3.
These modules are practically-based and aim to develop students' knowledge, skills and understanding in various gymnastic forms such as curriculum, artistic, sports acrobatics and trampolining.
Chelsea School has excellent gymnastic facilities, including 5 trampolines, a fully equipped gymnasium with a wide variety of apparatus, and a gym which has a fully sprung floor.
Students run and organise the trampoline and gymnastic clubs themselves and successfully compete at national level.
Chelsea School has strong links with a number of local children's gymnastics / trampoline clubs which use the Chelsea School 's facilities as their club base. A number of our students have gone on to gain coaching qualifications and become assistant coaches with these clubs, whilst continuing with their studies.
The Chelsea School Sports Acro' competition is an annual event with a long-standing tradition. Up to 25 local schools bring children along to the university to compete.
