Sport Studies and Management

Sport has become an increasingly prominent part of the UK's cultural industries, as both competitive performance and leisure.

For a long time sport has been a forum for the expression of national and local identities, a source of national pride.

It has also been a major influence on the reshaping of national and international media in the written press, broadcasting and the explosion of multimedia forms.

Sport may still be play and fun, but it is also a vital part of community development and social organisation, as well as serious big business.

It has never been more necessary to prepare well-rounded graduates for entry into sport-related professions and the leisure industries.
