Overtime

Overtime is the Sport Journalism BA(Hons) course website produced by the students for the students.

Budding journalists have the opportunity to write previews, reports and opinion pieces on a wide range of sports from football to Formula One.

What can I do on Overtime?

You can get involved in behind the scenes sub-editing, choosing pictures, writing headlines and uploading material.  You can also learn to produce video and audio for the site as multimedia skills are essential in today's media landscape.

You can hone in on particular sports of interest as Overtime contains in-depth coverage of major events such as the Cricket World Cup and the inaugural Women's Football Super League, which sees our team of journalists reporting live from the games.

There will also be a Rugby World Cup special later this year and of course coverage of the 2012 London Olympics.

But it's not all about sport – you can also write about other aspects of journalism such as film and music reviews and local news.

How will Overtime help me?

The work you produce acts as an excellent showcase for potential employers. Plus practice makes perfect - the more you write, the better you get.

It’s is also important that you enjoy your writing and find it rewarding. Overtime provides you with the perfect platform to achieve this.
