The biochemistry laboratory offers facilities for detailed analysis of human blood and tissue samples.

Analysis of material is through histo- and immunohistochemistry, Western blot, Enzyme Linked ImmunoSorbant Assay (ELISA), spectrophotometry, flourimetry, microdialysis and stable isotope tracer methodologies. These techniques allow investigation of genetics and biochemical pathways during studies of health and disease such as diabetes and obesity.
