Keynote Speakers Announced

The Centre for Tourism Policy Studies (CENTOPS), the School of Service Managements tourism research group is one of the partnering organisations for a forthcoming international conference due to take place in Naples on 13–14 September 2012.

This Conference, titled ‘Competition and Innovation in Tourism: New challenges in an uncertain environment’, is born as a result of the academic cooperation among researchers from around the world in the field of tourism. It is a great opportunity to come together and discuss some of the most current issues and theories associated with the study of tourism.

Researchers and practitioners with different levels of experience are invited to contribute to this event by presenting their work and take part in the workshops.

The Organising Committee is pleased to announce the event’s Keynote Speakers:

Plenary Session scheduled for 13th September:

  • Jafar JAFARI, Professor of Hospitality and Tourism, Department of Hospitality and Tourism, School of Home Economics, University of Wisconsin Stout
  • Andrew CHURCH, Professor of Human Geography, School of Environment and Technology, University of Brighton

Plenary Session scheduled for 14th September:

  • Hannah MESSERLI, Senior Private Sector Specialist Development/Tourism, The World Bank Group
  • Joanne BADDELEY, Sustainable Destination Manager, Thomas Cook UK & Ireland

All papers will be included in the Conference Proceedings. Additionally, while a selection of best papers will be published in a special issues of the Enlightening Tourism. A Pathmaking Journal, there will be an opportunity to submit papers to theTourism Planning and Development Journal.
