With views over the South Downs and English Channel, the campus has a very friendly, informal and welcoming atmosphere. Many of the university buildings on the campus date back to the late 18th century and recent development work has seen the expansion of the library and computer pools, and the refurbishment of the sports facilities including the indoor swimming pools and gymnasium.
Eastbourne is one of the UK's best known coastal resorts and has approximately 80,000 residents. Boarded by the South Downs and English Channel, Eastbourne is renowned for having a number of well-known landmarks on its doorstep including the Seven Sisters Country Park and Beachy Head. One of the most spectacular stretches of natural coastline in the UK, the South Downs, which border the town have been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, presenting many opportunities for outdoor pursuits including hiking, riding and paragliding.
The campus is only a 15 minute walk from the centre of town, five minutes from the beach and five minutes to the foot of the Downs.
