Eastbourne is situated close to Gatwick Airport (45 minute journey), London (90 minute journey) and the Channel tunnel. Eastbourne is also 13 miles from Newhaven with ferry connections to Mainland Europe.
You can get to Eastbourne quicker by choosing London Gatwick Airport for your travel flights as direct trains travel (51mins) from Gatwick Airport to Eastbourne.
For those who do not have the option to choose Gatwick, you may catch the tube (Underground) Picadilly Line from the London Heathrow Terminals. Change at South Kensington Station to catch the District Line to London Victoria Station where you can jump on the train to Eastbourne (1.5 hrs).
Alternatively, you can get on the National Express Coach Inter-Airport Transfer between Gatwick and Heathrow airports. Tickets (roughly £20 one way) and journey times can be obtained from dedicated travel desks at the airport. Average journey time between Heathrow and Gatwick is approximately 60 to 70 minutes. Journeys may take longer at peak traffic times.
There is also an hourly direct trains to/from Ashford International Station for Eurostar.
