Research Themes and Groups
Research in the School of Sport and Service Management is organised into the following themes and groups:
Centre for Sport Research (CfSR)
The Centre for Sport Research is the catalyst for sport-related research at the University of Brighton and has established specialist research groups in the following areas: Sport and Leisure Cultures, Sport and Exercise Science and Physical Education
Centre for Tourism Policy Studies (CENTOPS)
Predicated on the growing acknowledgement that natural and cultural environments are finite resources, CENTOPS was founded by Professor Peter M Burns in 2001 to undertake empirical, reflective and applied research into the links between Tourism, Society and Culture.
Hospitality Research (BHR)
The Brighton Hospitality Research Group was created in the summer of 2011 in order to consolidate our group members' research and consultancy in Culture, People and Performance; Food, Management and Wellbeing; The Consumer; and Pedagogy.
Retail and Consumer Studies Group (RCSG)
The RCSG was established in 2004 by Chris Dutton and Harvey Ells in response to the School of Sport and Service Management’s growing research capability in the field of retail operations, marketing and consumer studies.
