"After graduating, I continued to work part-time whilst completing my training to become a special constable. I then volunteered for a year and half, whilst working as a civilian staff member for the police. I then travelled the world for three months, visiting San Francesco, Oahu (Hawaii), Fiji, New Zealand and Hong Kong. After returning from my travels I worked in a civilian staff role focused on neighbourhood policing for over a year to gain an understanding of the responsibilities and challenges faced by the neighbourhood team. I am now due to begin assessing emerging crime pattern to support the detection and prevention of crime. This is a role that I have aspired to become a part of for some time and provides scope for career progression."
Lee Koukos, BA (Hons) Criminology and Social Policy 2006

"In the three years of my course I felt I received excellent support from my tutors and I was able to complete the course with very little drama! Whilst I was at the university I regained my love of rugby and had two years on the committee of the rugby team. Now in postgrad life I help to organise the yearly rugby reunion of old students and the old students/current student's match.
My degree helped me gain the knowledge to do my job at a standard I am proud of. I remain in touch with the university as it was a great three years of my life which I will never forget and which have shaped my life forever. For this, I will be ever grateful.
I am happy to help any current students that I can with advice or just lend an ear for problems."
Dylan Wrixon BA(Hons) Health and Social Care 2005

"I now live in the USA and combined my healthcare background and my diploma to become a medical administrator. I sit on the Downs Syndrome Association of Houston Board and involve myself in charity and community work."
Marie Dooley, BA(Hons) Social Policy and Administration 2001

"After graduating I worked for Brighton Housing Trust before moving into mental health at The Richmond Fellowship. Fourteen years on and I am working in a re-engagement project for young people. My degree has been relevant and informative for my entire career."
Jane Gilbert, BA(Hons) Social Policy and Administration 1993
