Current projects

In collaboration with the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London and Imperial College London, Dee is working on NIHR funded research exploring the impact of service user involvement within community mental health services. The project involves working with three mental health Foundation Trusts, using both quantitative and qualitative methods with service user groups, commissioners, senior management and governors.

Dee has a developing interest in the field of Learning Disability and is exploring potential research opportunities with a variety of partners.

Alongside contributing to a number of under and post graduate courses, Dee is the Placement Tutor for courses related to substance misuse.

Profile

Dee is a highly experienced social researcher and development worker. Her specialist knowledge areas are regeneration, participation/governance, service user involvement and community development.

Dee has planned and managed a number of third stream commercial consultancy assignments. Recent consultancy included taking the lead on working with Brighton and Hove Federation of Disabled People. Work involved providing advice and guidance for research funded by Brighton and Hove City Council.

Dee enjoys collaboration with the Community University Partnership Programme (www.cupp.org.uk), with recent work centering on exploring the potential for making stronger links between student research capacity and the research needs of local organisations.
