Screen Archive South East's Conservation Centre at Chichester
provides the storage facility for all original materials and houses all
of the archive’s collection, preservation and production activities.
This work requires continual professional development and research, especially
in the areas of documentation and the technological aspects of collection
management, preservation and digitisation.
All items/collections entering the collection are inspected, prepared for storage and catalogued. The archive has an in-house database that we use to document the content and condition of every item in the collection. The archive has also developed an online resource - Screen Search, containing a growing catalogue of selected films from archive's collection.
The Archive occasionally works with volunteers and we welcome applications
from people who would like to volunteer to assist on specific projects.
Opportunities may include:
- Assessing and logging new acquisitions
- Viewing and cataloguing collections
- Assisting with oral history work with depositors
If you are interested in talking to the Archive about volunteering, please
contact us and, where possible,
send us a copy of your CV.
