In 1998, the Screen Archive mounted the “Will Day and Early English Cinema Colloquium” at the University of Brighton with participants from all of the public sector film archives in the UK and Eire and representatives from the UK community of early film historians. In 2002 it presented a one day seminar entitled, “Off-Screen: the Moving Image in Museums, Libraries and Archives” at Brighton Pavilion. Through presentations and discussion, it examined the use of moving images by the MLA sector.
