A SASE schools education projectThe Archive's collection, which embraces magic lantern slides, films, videotapes and digital material, is a significant educational resource. It first represents itself and the history of these media. It also provides an accessible vehicle for a wider understanding of history, stimulating interest and engagement with the past.

Screen Archive South East’s educational aims are to:

  • become a dynamic educational organisation which has the capacity to respond to the needs of a diverse range of learners across the region
  • promote lifelong learning
  • place teaching, learning and research at the core of all of its activities
  • develop an informed understanding of the collection and its pedagogical uses
  • deliver archive-based educational activities of a high quality
  • produce innovative online resources and DVDs
  • support and participate in relevant regional and national educational projects and events
  • always operate cross-sectorally, especially with the screen, heritage (museums, archives), information (libraries) and education sectors
